Sultrim
Pharmaceutical form: Oral tablets for veterinary use.
Pharmacotherapeutic group: Systemic antimicrobial and antibacterial agent.
Target species: Cattle, small ruminants, carnivores, pigs, poultry, rabbits.
Composition (per 1 tablet):
Sulfadimidine sodium – 400 mg
Trimethoprim – 80 mg
Indications for use:
Sultrim tablets are used for the treatment of infectious diseases in domestic animals caused by microorganisms sensitive to sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim.
Indicated for:
Upper and lower respiratory tract infections
Gastrointestinal diseases
Urinary and genital infections
Secondary infections during viral diseases
Skin and soft tissue infections
Specific indications by species:
Cattle, small ruminants, carnivores: Diarrhea, colisepticemia, streptococcal polyarthritis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, pneumonia, staphylococcal abscesses.
Pigs: Colibacteriosis, atrophic rhinitis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, toxoplasmosis, haemophilus pleuropneumonia, erysipelas.
Poultry: Coccidiosis, pasteurellosis, colisepticemia, salmonellosis, staphylococcosis, infectious rhinitis.
Rabbits: Coccidiosis, salmonellosis, staphylococcosis.
Dosage and administration:
Administer orally with feed, milk, or drinking water.
Cattle, small ruminants, carnivores, pigs, rabbits: 1 tablet (480 mg) per 15 kg body weight every 12 hours for 3–5 days.
Poultry:
Chicks (up to 1 week): ¼ tablet (120 mg) dissolved in 2 L of drinking water.
Broilers and pullets (1–8 weeks): ½ tablet (240 mg) per 2 L of water or mixed with 1 kg of feed.
Laying hens (over 20 weeks): ½ tablet (240 mg) per 1 L of water or ¾ tablet (360 mg) per 1 kg of feed.
Turkeys (5–20 weeks): ½ tablet (240 mg) per 1 L of water.
For water administration, dissolve the required amount in 100–150 mL of water first to form a uniform suspension, then add to the total drinking water volume.
Continue treatment for 2 consecutive days after clinical signs disappear.
Packaging: 90 tablets in a polyethylene bottle.
Storage conditions: Store in a dry, dark place at temperatures below 20°C.
Shelf life: 3 years.
